281. We conclude from this that in the works of a person whose natural mind descends through three degrees into hell are contained all his evils and falsities, and that in the works of a person whose natural mind ascends into heaven are contained all his goods and truths, and that both the one and the other are perceived by angels simply from the person's speech or action. It is because of this that we are told in the Word that a person will be judged according to his works,* and that he will give an account of his words.** * Matthew 16:27; Revelation 20:12, 13.
